"Get SMART FAST" Distance Training Program
Program Overview
SMART Recovery® offers an online Distance Training Program for individuals who are interested in becoming a SMART Recovery® meeting Facilitator or Volunteer. This training is provided for individuals who are planning to start a new (or to facilitate an existing) SMART Recovery® face-to-face or online meeting within 3 months of their training, or for those who are becoming a SMART Recovery® Online (SROL) Volunteer.
The Get SMART FAST (Facilitator And Support Team) training course has been created to provide participants with the necessary knowledge of SMART Recovery® and the SMART Recovery 4-Point Program®, allowing them to proceed capably and comfortably in their role as a SMART Recovery® meeting Facilitator or Volunteer.

Training Course
The Get SMART FAST course consists of a study portion that takes place on our new Distance Training site utilizing the Moodle online learning platform. There, training participants will review the training materials presented in various multi-media formats, including reading materials and video presentations. Additionally, group interactions will take place between training participants and the Distance Training Team through forum discussions and with the completion of various tasks and assignments related to each segment of the training course.
Upon completion of the study portion, two live training sessions will take place in our Voice Distance Training Meeting Room on the SMART Recovery Online (SROL) Message Board. The first is a role-play session, in which training participants take on the various roles and perform a mock SMART Recovery meeting. The final meeting consists of a live presentation and a Question & Answer session to address any questions, thoughts, and concerns that you may have.
